Fade to Mind

Week 6

Where do I begin.

After finishing off my mid reflection I knew it was time for a change. This week I looked back on all my previous posts and also ahead to my future posts, and carefully planned how to go about finishing this project. In the mid-reflection i decided that small steps was the best way.

I  planned for this week to finish painting the leaves and plants around the girl, and also to start some of the flowers to bring some colour and light to the painting, but every time I tried to begin painting I got frustrated. I couldn't figure out why but I ultimately decided that it would be the best thing to do to just 'walk away' for a little bit, especially with all the crazy stuff going on in my life.

So, what am I going to do for a whole week if I'm not painting? Well as much as I wanted to just forget about the painting completely, I couldn't. Instead of researching and planning each detail of what next to paint, I reviewed all that I have done thus far and from old snaps, pics and videos, I kind of watched my journey of me getting to where I currently am. To me, this seemed like the best way to recollect and motivate myself so I can continue onwards.

Looking back on all these actually gave me hope and got me back into the mood for painting and finishing as much as I can before the due date!

Learning

digital

 how to create

Drawings!

I was looking back through all my saved snap chats and found this one. This was a huge achievement for me as I guess it's the first digital drawing that I have actually completed.

This snap video was the beginning of the painting stages and I remember sitting back and thinking, 'I'm actually gonna be making a fully finished painting based on my own ideas and creativity!'

Definitely an inspiring moment for me.

Started

posting artwork

Online.

So one of the things that I haven't really talked about at all on here is that I also start publishing art on social media to try it out and gain some followers. This project actually inspired me to do it as well.

Currently it's slow because I still have to deal with uni and work, but I'm building it up slowly and I'm excited to put more effort into it once im done.

Painting Style

Creating a

of my own!

Something that I've always wanted to accomplish with painting was creating my own style and refining it.

With this project I do feel like that I'm coming into my own lane, which will hopefully allow me to grow as an artist and eventually share my style with the community!
